If you’ve got to this page through the Twin Shock web site, you’ll probably know a bit about me already.
Anyway, for those of you who don’t, I’m going to fill in some blanks…
Currently I am Vice Chairman of the TSSC (
I have raced a couple of twinshock bikes over the years, first with a ’77 Maico 250 then on to an ’81 Maico 250. Some of my most memorable times on a bike were when I was racing, but sadly a couple of knee injuries told me to stop.
Nowadays, I’m the one lying at the side of the track taking pictures of everyone else. – Good fun, but not quite the same as racing.
Although not racing anymore, I still manage to have a brace of Hondas in the garage. – A Firestorm for a bit of pace and an XL185 for fun.
Home for me is in Powmill, where my wife Audrey also lives (she’s got the patience of a Saint) and a handful of kids, Kenny, Joanne, Rhona and Fraser.

What’s this all about then?
This is an organisation that raises money to buy bikes for a charity called “Riders for Health”. (Registered Charity No: 1054565) www.riders.org
I’m trying to raise the minimum amount of £4,500 required to participate in this event. The money is enough to buy a brand new bike out in South Africa, get me out there to do a 2,500km enduro ride and at the end of the trip, the bike is handed over to “Riders for Health” where it is used to get medical support out to remote villages.

How am I going to raise the money?
- Basically anyway I can. It’s a lot of money, so I need to start now.
- As I’ve mentioned before, I do some photography at the TSSC meetings and print off photos at the trackside. Well from now, until I have reached my target, ALL proceeds from my photography will go to “enduroafrica”.
- Car Boot sales / eBay auctions – If you have anything you are looking to get rid of, let me take it off your hands and I will sell it to raise funds.
- By kind donations from your good selves. – See me in person, or click on the “Donate” button below and pay securely on line with PayPal. You can either do this with credit or debit card, or through your PayPal account if you are registered.
